The diffuser is simply mounted between the loudspeaker and the baffle. It prevents the high-frequency sounds from being radiated directly, which have a shorter running time than base tones. This prevents the sound from being pointed (beaming). The same effect is obtained when you are inclined to the loudspeaker. The sound you hear in this case is softer and more comfortable, since the high-frequency sounds do not hit the listener directly. The diffuser scatters these high-frequency sounds, resulting in a warmer and softer sound.
